CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINER
Hi, I’m Tommy Montgomery! I’m an NYC-based children's enterainer with over a decade of experience performing for children as an actor, musician, and professional sports mascot. Since December 2024, I have been an acting company member at Only Make Believe, performing interactive theatre for children with disabilities and illnesses across NYC schools and hospitals. Since September 2022, I have been a company member at Shadow Box Theatre, acting and playing guitar in musical puppet shows that travel to schools across NYC for ages 3-8. And since March 2025, I have played guitar and co-led pediatric music therapy groups, alongside a Speech-Language Pathologist, for children on the autism spectrum at Creative Speech Therapy NYC. I received my BFA in Acting from Syracuse University, where I acted in two professional children’s tours at Syracuse Stage. As a mascot performer, I have danced and made children smile at baseball games and cricket matches.

While at Niles North High School in Skokie, Illinois, my theatre class fielded stories written by kids in our school district, aged kindergarten through fourth grade, and dramatized them into an hour-long sketch show called That's My Story!. When one kid's handwritten story "Gizmo the Pig" made little sense and my classmates wanted to scrap the story, I was intrigued by this kid's imagination and was determined to put it in the show. So, I turned "Gizmo the Pig" into a rap song with a catchy chorus. Since then, playing music for kids and making them smile has been the joy of my career.
