Hi, I’m Tommy Montgomery! I’m an NYC-based actor, comedian, and musician, best known for my year-long Off-Broadway run as Jim/Andy in The Office! A Musical Parody. I am a jack of all trades and a goofy older brother type, somewhere between Paul Rudd, Jack Black, and Mr. Met.
I received my BFA in Acting from Syracuse University and have acting and comedy training from Shakespeare’s Globe (London) and Upright Citizens Brigade (NY). I have over a decade of experience performing children’s theatre, and I am currently an acting company member at Only Make Believe, an actor and guitarist in musical puppet shows with Shadow Box Theatre, and a music therapist and guitarist with Creative Speech Therapy NYC. As a comedian, I have written and performed sketch and characters around NYC at UCB, Characters Welcome, BoogieManja, Peoples Sketch Revues, NYC SketchFest, Second City NYC, The PIT, Magnet Theater, BCC, Whiskey Stories, Caveat, and The Rat. I host and produce the character sketch show Mickey Mouse Traphouse in which comedians parody your favorite childhood characters, and my solo sketch show played The PIT’s mainstage three times in 2025. I have also played saxophone and guitar with indie folk band Times New Rita in their live shows at Club Cumming, Bowery Electric, Arlene’s Grocery, and more. I am a strong physical comedian, and have been a professional mascot performer at baseball games and cricket matches.

Jim/Andy in The Office! A Musical Parody Off-Broadway
I played Jim/Andy in the Off-Broadway cast of The Office! A Musical Parody for a year-long run, playing my 250th and final performance on April 30th, 2023. Watch a highlight reel of my work in the video above.
After being cast in February 2022 as a swing, I made my Off-Broadway debut on March 24th and was promoted to the role of primary Jim/Andy in June 2022.​ On May 19th, 2022, Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey (Pam and Angela in the original sitcom) surprised the cast and saw the show while I was swinging on for Toby/Creed. Children's Theatre with Only Make Believe, Shadow Box Theatre, and Creative Speech Therapy
Since December 2024, I have been an acting company member at Only Make Believe, performing interactive theatre for children with disabilities and illnesses across NYC schools and hospitals. Since September 2022, I have been a company member at Shadow Box Theatre, acting and playing guitar in musical puppet shows that travel to schools across NYC for ages 3-8. And since March 2025, I have played guitar and co-led pediatric music therapy groups, alongside a Speech-Language Pathologist, for children on the autism spectrum at Creative Speech Therapy NYC.
Characters and Sketch Comedy
In 2025, I wrote and acted for sketch teams with BoogieManja and Peoples Sketch Revues (house team at The PIT). I've performed sketch and character comedy at UCB, Characters Welcome, BoogieManja, Peoples Sketch Revues, NYC SketchFest, Second City NYC, The PIT, Magnet Theater, BCC, Whiskey Stories, Caveat, The Rat, and more.
